Lovely small and light Japanese style petty knife in 1084 high carbon steel with a wicked edge.
This knife features my first 'frame handle', a hidden tang construction method which involves sandwiching one material between a pair of scales. This one is made with a slither of ~5000yo bog Oak, sandwiched between stabilised Laburnum, with an aluminium retention pin, G10 spacer and hammer textured aluminium bolster cap.
There is a small crack in the rear of the blade, which has been filled. It is purely aesthetic but I have reduced the price to reflect this.
*Since the blade is made from carbon steel it is NOT stainless and will build up a beautiful and unique patina with use. This blue, grey and black colouring will protect the blade from rust as it builds and acts as a record of all the things it has been through (literally)!
